Carmel School CBSE, Kotekar celebrated National Mathematics Day on 22 December 2025 in the school
auditorium with great enthusiasm, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary
mathematician Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome to the Chief Guest Mrs Ramya
Bhagyesh Rai, Director, Vidyamatha Academy, along with Principal Sr Pramila, Administrator Sr Julie
Ann, Vice Principal Sr Anitha, Coordinator Sr Ashwina, teachers, and students. A graceful welcome dance
set a joyful and vibrant tone for the celebration.
Students highlighted the significance of the day by recalling the invaluable contributions of Srinivasa
Ramanujan and emphasizing the role of mathematics in developing logical thinking and analytical skills.
The programme featured lively dance performances, a thought-provoking skit on the importance of
mathematics in daily life, and a creative dance depicting mathematical symbols, making learning both
engaging and enjoyable.
In her address, Mrs Ramya Bhagyesh Rai spoke about the importance of mathematics in academics and
competitive examinations. She encouraged students to overcome their fear of the subject through
regular practice, conceptual clarity, and perseverance, while highlighting the role of mathematics in
strengthening reasoning and problem-solving skills.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students inspired to appreciate mathematics
as an essential and interesting part of learning.
