La Salette Vidyanikethan, Mysuru

2024-25 ( June & July )

La Salette Vidyanikethan is a minority Christian Educational Institution run by Congregation of the missionaries of our Lady of La Salette. The motto of Institution is ‘TO HAVE FULLNESS OF LIFE’. La Salette Vidyanikethan strives for each child’s holistic development.

The new academic for the year 2024-25 began on 27/05/2024. With great enthusiasm and excitement the school management and the staff made special efforts to welcome the students. The students were happy to be back to school after their holidays.

On 1 st of June Teachers Orientation programme was conducted. The resource person for the Seminar was Fr. Vintu MSFS, who enlightened the teachers with his vast knowledge and experience in teaching profession.

The school follows the different curriculum for all round development of the individual. On 5 th June we celebrated the World Environmental Day. A day which encourages awareness and action for the Protection of the Environment. The theme of the year is “Land Restoration Desertification and drought resilience”. We had very meaningful prayer service in the Assembly. Captions were displayed. PUC students presented inspiring Skit. There was tree plantation by the management in the school ground.

On 21 st June is celebrated as International Yoga Day in our school . This year marks the 10 th International Day of yoga with theme -Yoga for Self and Society. Yoga a transformative practice, represent the harmony of mind and body, the balance between thought and action and unity of restraint and fulfilment. Our school and PUC students participated in this Yoga which was conducted in our school.

Our school election to nominate head boy and head girl for PUC and school is conducted on 3 rd of July. The election was done in such a manner students cooperated so well and made them aware about the process of electing a leader Investiture ceremony is a formal event that confers authority, symbols, or an official rank to someone. In a School and College it is an event where students are appointed to leadership roles and given their respective badges of authority. On 27 th of July was marked as day for the Student’s Council where the Leaders took an oath in the presence of Mrs. Lolakshi the Police Inspector of Bilikere Hunsure. PUC had their Investiture ceremony on 31 st of July. The chief guest for the day was Mr. Nayak Louis Perera Indian Army, 8 th Maratha Light Infantry, Hunsur. He inspired the students with his thought provoking words and experience working in Indian army. His love for the country and his life experiences in different places of work was very enriching.

Different activities help students to develop their skills, improve academic performance, and build social skill, leadership, team work, time management, and creativity. Drawing and Chart preparing Competitions were held for the students from classes 1 st to 10 th . There was full participation with lots of creative minds.

Graduation Day is the day when college or University holds a ceremony to award diplomas and degree to its students. It is also known as Convocation Day. On 3 rd August our school management organised Graduation Day for PUC students who have cleared their 2 nd PUC. The students happily received their Certificates with their graduation robes and cops. It was very memorable and glorious day for the students.
